The Story Behind ECT

Founded in 2001 by Billy Legler and Kenn Mitchell, Electrical Contracting Technologies (ECT) wasn’t born out of corporate boardrooms or investor meetings—it started where real work happens: in the field. Both Billy and Kenn spent years with tools in hand, wiring buildings, troubleshooting panels, and mastering the craft of electrical work one project at a time.
 

But more than building a company, they were building a life—not just for themselves, but for their families. The vision was simple: create something that gave them control over their destiny. A business where they didn’t have to answer to anyone. One that allowed them the freedom to be there for family milestones, school plays, and ball games without asking permission. It was about more than money. It was about legacy.
 

Together, they’ve completed over 6,000 commercial and residential projects—but what truly sets them apart is their chemistry.

Kenn, on the other hand, is the heartbeat of the people. A natural relationship-builder, Kenn’s motto has always been:
